Responsible Dallas Handgun Owners – Take Heed
As a responsible handgun owner, there are the four general firearm safety rules. Their enforcement is the responsibility of everyone. If you need training on how to handle and use handguns, you can take a class taught by Master Trainer, Tom Russell.
Follow them and they’ll serve you well. Read about or watch the video to better understand the best firearm safety rules that everyone should closely follow:
Rule #1
All guns are always loaded. If someone hands you a firearm and reassures you that the gun isn’t loaded, you don’t take their word for it. You determine that for yourself. It’s the responsible thing to do.
Rule #2
Never allow the muzzle of your pistol to cover anything that you are not willing to destroy. If you don’t want to put a hole through it, don’t point that weapon at it.
Rule #3 the golden rule
Keep your finger off the trigger until your sights are on the target. If my sights are on the target, my finger is on the trigger. As soon as my sights come off the target, my finger comes off the trigger. I place mine on the frame.
Rule #4
Always make sure of your target and what’s beyond. We have a legal and a moral responsibility for every round that goes down range. Let’s ensure that we are only engaging a legitimate target.
